Young People Discuss the Topic of Mental Health at the Annual “Voice it” Event

Mental health is the theme of the eighth edition of the youth forum “Voice it: An opinion that matters”. The event is organized by the “Megaphone” youth network and National  Network for Children on the occasion of the anniversary of the signing of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The purpose of Voice it is to emphasize how important it is to hear children’s voices, to give children the opportunity to express their opinion on the issues that matter to them and to participate in solving problems.

This year, Voice it will be on November 20, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Hall 6 of the NDK.

The topic of discussion is “Mental Health” in the following areas: school, family, social networks and friendship, health care.

The youth from the “Megaphone” program will ask their questions to the invited representatives of the responsible institutions and politicians – Dr. Alexander Simidchiev, Member of Parliament from Democratic Bulgaria and Deputy Chairman of the Health Care Commission, Krasimir Valchev, Member of Parliament from GERB-SDS and Chairman of the Committee on Education and Science and Iskren Arabadjiev, a member of parliament from the Continue the Change and vice-chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social and Demographic Policy.

During the event, children and young people from Varna, including children from Ukraine, will join in with their questions to the politicians via video link.

Finally, there will be a discussion in which all the guests will participate – experts, teachers, students.

Special guests at the event will be young people from the office of the Children’s Ombudsman in Iceland.

The presenter will be the famous actor and vlogger Stefan Popov-Chefo.

In the second panel of Voice it from 14:30 to 16:30, organizations with experience in children’s and youth participation will present themselves with stands and interactive activities.
