Our Mission
The National Network for Children advocates for the rights and well-being of children by uniting and developing a broad, socially relevant network of organizations and supporters.
Our cause
In order to ensure the rights and improve the well-being of children and families in Bulgaria, we carry out advocacy campaigns in partnership with the NGO sector, businesses, institutions and individual citizens and with the support of the children themselves.
Thanks to our team of experts, we develop informed policies for children and families and work with the legislature and executive to implement them.
We are also working to consolidate the NGOs working in the field of children and families, as well as to improve communication and the exchange of experience and good practices between them.
WHAT DID WE ACHIEVE?
We fought for a Community Council for the Children's Hospital,
So that 1million+ children receive quality care in a national hospital built with a transparent process and no more delays.
We got the NHIS to adopt 2 new codes,
To reimburse life-saving enteral nutrition for550+ children and adults who will no longer wait on donation drives.
We have achieved changes in the adoption system
Affects the lives of 2million children, biological parents and relatives, and adoptive parents.
The MES adopted amendments,
which would make the number of days allowed for "home reasons" 15 and700,000 students and their parents would not have to wait hours for a doctor's note for short-term absences and minor ailments.
We participated in the development of the vision for deinstitutionalization
10,000+ children have been removed from old-style homes and placed in family care.
We got the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health to send children back to school,
when, because of Covid 19, schools were closed but the malls and casinos were open.
