Our Mission
The National Network for Children advocates for the rights and well-being of children by uniting and developing a broad, socially relevant network of organizations and supporters.

Our cause
In order to ensure the rights and improve the well-being of children and families in Bulgaria, we carry out advocacy campaigns in partnership with the NGO sector, businesses, institutions and individual citizens and with the support of the children themselves.
Thanks to our team of experts, we develop informed policies for children and families and work with the legislature and executive to implement them.
We are also working to consolidate the NGOs working in the field of children and families, as well as to improve communication and the exchange of experience and good practices between them.

20 Years of NNC: 20 Achievements
Through sustained advocacy by civil society organisations,
we succeeded in reinstating the Public Council for the National Children’s Hospital, safeguarding transparency, public participation and the best interests of more than 1 million+ children in Bulgariа.
Our advocacy led the National Health Insurance Fund to introduce
two new reimbursement codes for life-saving enteral nutrition, meaning550+ children and adults no longer have to rely on fundraising campaigns.
After nearly 20 years of dreaming, dedication and sustained effort,
construction has begun on the Children’s House – the future home of the National Network for Children, built by and for a community that believes every child deserves to be heard, supported and given the opportunity to thrive.
The Ministry of Education and Science increased permitted absence days
for family reasons to 15, meaning that700,000 students and their parents no longer have to wait for medical certificates for short-term absences or minor illnesses.
We participated in the development of the vision for deinstitutionalization
10,000+ children were moved out of old-style institutions and into family-based care.
For six years now, together with you, we have been making children’s Christmas wishes come true – with the gift of a book!
“A child is waiting for magic. Become a magician – give them a book!” is one of NNC’s most anticipated and successful campaigns. Together with more than 8,000 donors, we have brought the joy of books to nearly 20,000 children who do not have access to age-appropriate books.

Legal Aid Network
The Legal Aid Network of the National Network for Children was established with the motive to increase the impact of the advocacy work of the NYS through the work on landmark, or so-called "strategic cases" of children, and to offer qualified legal assistance in cases involving children.
