Representatives of more than 70 organizations from all over the country, members of the National Network for Children, gathered in the town of Tryavna from 14th to 16th June for the Annual Meeting of the Network.
Within 3 days, 220 experts, working with children and young people, participated in workshops, discussions, training, and shared experience and challenges in their work.
More than 35 children and young people participated in the Annual Meeting. Some of them from the Children’s and Youth Network Megaphone, and the rest – volunteers and children supported by the member organizations.
The first panel of the program “The values that unite us” discussed the common values of the 150 organizations that are part of the National Network for Children.
Within the framework of the program thematic groups in the fields of Education, Healthcare and Early Childhood Development, Justice and Family were held.
On the second day an Exhibition of ten organizations presented their activities and good practices. On the same day the General Meeting of the National Network for Children was held.
A special guest at the Meeting was the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria Ms. Maya Manolova who received a special Golden Apple Award for her contribution to enforce children’s rights and improve well-being of Bulgarian children. Her dedication to juvenile justice system reform, guarantee the rights of children with special needs or disabilities, her appeal for free pre-school education and involvement in many other topics and cases was the reason she was awarded this special prize Golden Apple in 2018.
