On the 15th May, we celebrate International Day of the Family, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993. This day reminds us of the key role the family plays in the life of every child and the importance of a supportive and safe family environment.
We at the National Network for Children (NNC) believe that awareness of family-related social, demographic, and economic issues is critical to the well-being of children and society.
International Family Day allows us not only to celebrate the importance of the family, but also to draw attention to the challenges it faces. For more than 19 years, we at the NNC have been working for children’s rights and seeking solutions to improve the conditions in which they grow up.
Children are the future, and we are their heroes. They learn from our actions, not just our words.
With this in mind, we launched the “Heroes Don’t Hit, Heroes Love” campaign to support parents in Bulgaria, raise public awareness, and encourage parents to be true heroes for their children. The initiative shows that the strength of a parent is not in strictness, but in love, understanding, and support.
Support us at nmd.bg/en/donate/ – every donation is a step towards a world where every child grows up in a safe and loving environment. Donate today. Be part of the change!
Thank you to Stoyan Koprivlenski, the best Bulgarian kickboxer, for supporting us in this important mission. His support as the campaign’s face and ambassador shows that true strength is in love, not violence.
