Association “Sustainability of progressive and open communication” /SPOC/ encourages organisations actively working towards psychosocial care and support to vulnerable groups to use iFightDepression® – an online tool, guided self-management programme that aims to help individuals with mild to moderate depression to self-manage their symptoms.
The tool has now been translated into Ukrainian. It is an interactive, easy-to-use platform that helps users recognise depressive states and self-manage them for improved mental health.
iFightDepression® was developed in Germany and is used by doctors and therapists across Europe, thus supporting their patients’ therapy. For Ukrainian citizens, access is free and as easy as possible. Traditionally, the tool becomes available to the end user after contacting and under the coordination of a psychotherapist, psychologist or other expert, but for the convenience of Ukrainian citizens, access is provided in just one easy step:
- Use [email protected] to request to the Bulgarian Alliance Against Depression your desire to access the iFightDepression® tool.
The SPOC team is available for informational meetings and direct guidance on accessing the platform. The team also offers free trainings and coaching for all mental health professionals who want to use the tool in their practice.
The tool is easy to use on a daily basis and is based on cognitive behavioural therapy. There are mood assessment tests on the site that are completed regularly so the platform tracks progress and changes over time. Also included are exercises and worksheets for setting and achieving goals, guidelines for recognizing negative thoughts, depression and more. A healthy lifestyle diary, sleep hours, habits and more are also available to see how they affect mood.
Depression is a condition that can affect anyone, especially people who have experienced traumatic events. Seeking help is an important first step in regaining psychological well-being and control over life and health. The SPOC believes that more people affected by depression can benefit from the tool as a support for their mental health and overall quality of life during the challenges they continue to face.
