Bulgarian Association of Family planning and sexual health
Bulgarian association of family planning and sexual health (BAFP) is a NGO, established in 1992, registered in the public register as an association with public benefit. The purposes of BAFP are focused on the promotion and offering of adequate services in the area of reproductive health, providing information for different aspects of sexual health, safe sex and contraception, social equality of sexes.
The target groups of the organization are manifold- young people, disadvantaged groups, youngsters from institutions, ethnic minorities (mainly Roma people), medical specialists, teachers and personnel in high schools, GPs, women in village regions, and others. BAFP has offices in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, Stara Zagora and Pleven and cooperates on a local level with various NGOs in Burgas, Vratza, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech, Haskovo and others. The association has 8 state employees and 27 non-state employees. In 2007 the organization was supported by 200 volunteers- students, journalists, pharmacists, school and university teachers, economists and lawyers. In Bulgaria BAFP is a co-founder of the National Anti-aids coalition.
