“Agapedia- Bulgaria” Foundation (http://www.agapedia-bg.org/) has worked since 2001 with disadvantaged children and youngsters to improve their social lives, communication and quality of life. Since 2005 the foundation has a license to accommodate children and youngsters 7-18 of age in Protected homes;
Center for social integration, informal education and consultation for children without parents and children from poor families, and since 2007 to accommodate them in a Accommodation Center for families.

The center for social integration, informal education and consultation for children deprived of parental care and children from poor families used to provide extra education till the end of 2010 for increasing the literacy, acquiring knowledge, skills and competence needed to find a job, stimulate the social integration and to orient them professionally.

Over 35 youngsters had the chance through the program “Protected Homes”, in the atmosphere of home comfort and with the constant support of the educators, social workers and a psychologist, to learn how to take care of themselves and be more responsible and organized.

The purpose of both our Accommodation centers of family type is the children from 7-18 to grow up in an environment, closer to the family one, to be brought up in the moral values and develop as completed individuals. The work with each child is consistent to their specific needs and intellectual abilities.

Since 2008 the foundation has had an office in Plovdiv where works an Informational center for information, consultation, education and support for children, deprived of parental care and children from socially disadvantaged families.
