Do you know that every fifth child in Bulgaria does not have books suitable for his age?
In fact, thousands of children dream of getting a book, but it never happens. Therefore, every year at Christmas, the National Network for Children conducts the “Make Magic” campaign. Give a book to a child”. And this year is no exception – we are launching the campaign on 25.11.2023 (Saturday) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the “Siela” cafe-bookstore, Mall of Sofia, 101 “Stamboliyski” blvd., floor 2.
The participants in this year’s opening event will be Tsveta Brestnička – children’s writer and initiator of the campaign, Albena Ralenkova – editor, ed. Fut, Radostina Nikolova – publisher, ed. Marmot and Silvia Vasileva, Foundation “Health and Social Development”, who will open a discussion on the topic “Why are children’s books extremely important for children”? The event will be opened by Gergana Efremova, member of the Board of Directors of NMD and manager of “Strategic Partnerships” at the “Together in Hour” Foundation.
Each guest will have the opportunity to meet their favorite author, as well as get an autograph. Anyone present who decides to join the campaign during the day of the event will be able to become a magician by choosing the specific wish of a child from the NMD stand, buying a booklet and sending it to the organization. When buying a book from Ciela Bookstore, you will also receive a 10% discount. And how can you become a magician for a child who wants a specific book online? Very easy in three simple steps:
- Go to the campaign website www.napravimagia.nmd.bg (the website will become active on November 25 when the campaign starts)
- Choose which child you will gift a book to and follow the instructions.*
- Submit the booklet by December 15, 2023.
With the campaigns implemented in 2019-2022, together with the donors, we have been able to support and delight more than 6,000 children with their dream book. The wishes of the little ones are collected with the help of the NMD member organizations that work daily with these children in different parts of the country.
