From September 6 to 9, the autumn camp of the “Megaphone” youth network of National Network for Children took place in Stara Zagora. This year we had a record number of young people who wanted to join the program – teams from 8 organizations participated in the camp – “Pulse” Foundation, “Gavrosh” Association, “Zhaneta” , “Organization of the Bulgarian Scouts”, “Mission Wings” Foundation, Association ” SOS Children’s Villages Bulgaria” and Association “Development Initiative – Kardzhali decides” (a total of 31 participants, of which 18 are young people). Alexandra Hadzhieva, who graduated from the Megaphone program this year, took part in the process of facilitating the event, and thus practically had the opportunity to show the acquired social and presentation skills. The young people had thoroughly researched each of the organizations and made a creative presentation to them.
During the camp, youth and adults went through a program prepared by a team from the National Network for Children and a young man who graduated from the Megaphone program. The sessions were devoted to the big topic of children’s rights and the important European and international documents to which Bulgaria has joined. Children’s rights were discussed and, in particular, the right to participate – young people actively shared successful examples and challenges. The concept, mission and the way of working of National Network for Children were discussed, and the “Megaphone” program was presented through the stories of young people about their participation in all the NNC key events.
