The National Network for Children invited Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivailo Kalfin to be patron of its annual report: “Report Card 2015: What is the average government score for childcare?”. It aims to evaluate as in school how the government and administration fulfilled their commitments to the children in the last year. This alternative document critically and independently presents the civil society’s point of view on child policies.
“I accept this invitation with the request that in the next report, the scores for Ministry of labor and social policy activities will be much higher.” These were the words of Minister Ivailo Kalfin when he accepted the invitation of Georgi Bogdanov, executive director of National Network for Children.
“I am emotionally and personally engaged with the social aspects of chil dcare. It has been done a lot in many and different Ministry’ projects and initiatives as in relation with the process of deinstitutionalization, as in other fields, relative to care for children and their families. Although I believe that we are at the beginning of one very long way, which I would like to walk, as at the final of my work in the Ministry the number of children who will need urgent state support will be strongly decreased”, the Minister also declared.
