Representatives of the National Network for Children and the group for young people participation Megaphone gathered on August 13th and 14th, 2013 to work on the mission “Report Card 2014”.
This year, the publication aims to include children’s opinion as well. A group of nine young and enthusiastic people succeeded for nearly two days to choose the most appropriate way to make children’s point of view useful to professionals, who will work on preparing the Report Card 2014. The youths, encouraged by Stanislav Dodov, “Children and youth participation” coordinator at the National Network for Children, Miroslava Assenova of the P.U.L.S. Foundation and the team of the Network’s Secretariat, discussed ideas that would serve to assess the progress of Bulgarian governors.
Children can offer the most actual information whether the state takes enough care of them, where the governors’ management gaps are and whether all undertaken changes are effective. Youths discussed problems they considered most important and that should be resolved by the Government with priority.
Participants at the meeting decided they would prepare own Report Card 2014 which will highlight children problems and opinions.
