Tianna Krăsteva, a member of the “Child Explorers” team, a joint initiative of the National Network for Children and Eurochild, and a volunteer at the Youth Club “Let’s Be Friends” of the P.U.L.S. Foundation, is the new Bulgarian representative on the Eurochild Children’s Council. During her two-year term, she, along with other child representatives on the Council, will be involved in decision-making on issues that concern them, aiming to more effectively achieve the goals and work of Eurochild in implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
At a major event held between July 2 and 3, organized by Eurochild in collaboration with The Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, the mandate was handed over from the previous composition of the Children’s Council to the new Eurochild Council in Valletta, Malta.
The Children’s Council includes children from 12 European countries aged between 11 and 16. They advise the pan-European network Eurochild, which unites hundreds of organizations across Europe, including the National Network for Children. The Council has a two-year mandate.
In addition to monthly meetings with the child participation secretariat team, the Children’s Council is represented at Eurochild’s board meetings and provides information on various projects. Additionally, the children create and lead their own initiatives and campaigns. The Council is essential in ensuring that the interests and voices of children are directly represented in Eurochild’s work.
