The Irish Ambassador in Bulgaria Handed Certificates to 20 Bulgarian Experts in Positive Parenting

His Excellency John Rowan, Ambassador of Ireland in Bulgaria, handed certificates to 20 experts from Bulgarian non-profit organizations during a special reception in the Irish embassy in Sofia. The event was specially organized to mark the successful end of the Positive Parenting training for trainers, carried out by the leading Irish organization One Family and the National Network for Children – Bulgaria. His Excellency Emil Yalmazov, Bulgaria Ambassador in Ireland, also attended the event and congratulated the Bulgarian specialists.

The 20 trained specialists will be working in 8 Bulgarian cities – Sofia, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Sliven, Kyustendil, Gotse Delchev and Velingrad, where they will support local families that have been facing various problems. They will do so using the One Family Positive Parenting methodology, which is based on focusing and developing parents’ strengths instead of sanctioning them and treating them as irresponsible.

Bulgarian experts training took place in Sofia, from 11 to 13 July. It has been organized pro bono by One Family, as part of the CSR program that the Irish organization has planned for its 40th anniversary.
