The first protected home for children with disabilities in Bulgaria was inaugurated in Sadovetz village

The protected house is for 8 young people. It was built in 17 months in the frame of “Childhood for All” project, scheme “Deinstitutionalization support for social institutions, providing children at risk services”. The project’s finance at the value of 449 504.55 lev is provided by the Operational Program “Regional development”.

A total of 6 family type centers for accommodation of children discharged from institutions will be built in Pleven by the end of 2013. Their construction is within the framework of Municipality’s project “Regional development 2007-2013”.  A total of 84 children at age of 3, will be lodged in the 6 family type centers who will be discharged from the Medical and social care home in the city.

The children will have the chance to live in an environment close to the family. They will attend school and receive the necessary health and social services.
