The Bulgarian Government dismissed Kalin Kamenov as President of the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP).
The Agency’s activities will be led by Eva Jecheva, who stood at the head of the institution in the period 2001 – 2002, the Government’s press office announced.
Eva Jecheva, born in 1959, has a Master Degree in Bulgarian Language and Literature from the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo.
She has been working in the field of children’s rights protection and observance of the standards for children’s and people with disabilities social services for years. Mrs. Jecheva has also participated in the development of projects for legislation in the field of children’s protection and social assistance, as well as the preparation and execution of projects and programs in this line.
I will insist on all authorities and competent institutions that child monthly benefits should be bound to the minimum wage in order to support all families at risk, the new president of SACP said.
A qualitative and quantitative analysis of all systems of child protection will be made. This will allow to see where things are silted and why they cannot meet the new challenges, Mrs. Jecheva added.
