SOS Children’s Villages invites you to an online event on family support and child protection. Over two half-days, the conference will bring together state and non-state actors, researchers, policymakers, decision-makers, and practitioners from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East to share insights on strengthening families and preventing child separation.
Numerous children and young people could be spared from the painful experience of separation from their parents and caregivers if families were provided with adequate support during life-changing events, challenges, and crises.
Join like-minded professionals from the fields of family support, child and youth welfare, child protection, and social welfare, as well as individuals using family-strengthening services, for an inspiring exchange. Contribute to stepping up efforts to protect children. Highlights include:
- Research Findings: Gain insight into factors contributing to child-family separation and prevention measures from recent, extensive research behind the forthcoming Global Report on Children’s Care and Protection 2024.
- Policy Recommendations: Learn from government representatives, INGOs, multilateral organizations, and a young expert about effective systems, policies, and interventions to strengthen families and prevent child-parent separation.
- Promising Practices: Engage with practitioners and service users who will share lessons and experiences with successful interventions and policy measures to strengthen parents, caregivers, families, and community responses.
This conference follows the launch of the Global Report on Children’s Care and Protection 2024 on the International Day of Care and Support, 29th October 2024.
The conference will be conducted in English, with simultaneous translation into Russian and Arabic. Registration is free! Register Now!
