National Network for Children
With a population of 10 000 people, Rakitovo Municipality has 25 approved foster parents. The small Rodopi municipality, which consists of Rakitovo, Kostandovo and Dorkovo, has more foster families than entire regions in the country according to data of the Agency for Social Assistance. Further four foster families are in process of approval and in fact the municipality already is ahead of million Sofia regarding foster care.
