In the beginning of May the kindergarten ranking was published and again it proved that thousands of children remain outside the system. More and more parents are interested in alternatives for their children – household kindergartens organized in informal terms, nannies on programs of social ministry or privately nannies, who look after children at home, employed by one or more families or kids clubs for hourly activities.
Recently there is increasing interest to the lately appeared form in Bulgaria, long known abroad – parent’s cooperatives. But if we want parent’s cooperatives to become a real option for many parents, help from the state is needed – not only in words but with concrete actions, validation of alternatives, formulation of clear and reasonable standards and financial support to accomplish the requirements.
