Starting from September 15, 250 children from Ukraine will start their education in Bulgarian schools, the integration and education centre Український Вулик (Ukrainian Kosher) reports. The organisation is part of the National Network for Children and has been helping children and families from Ukraine to adapt to Bulgarian society for more than two years already.
“More and more children from Ukraine start their education in Bulgarian schools. This is an important step towards integration and adaptation for Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria, and we are proud to be part of this process. Our main goal is to support the children in their educational path!”, said the centre. Hundreds of Ukrainian children have been helped through the organization through activities such as Bulgarian language courses and assistance in various subjects throughout the school period.
A few days ago Ukraїnський Vulik launched a donation campaign for school supplies for the 250 children from Ukraine who will be studying in Bulgarian schools starting this September. With the funds raised so far, 100 backpacks have already been provided, but the organization needs more support for backpacks for the remaining students, as well as for supplies such as notebooks, pencils, etc. The organization estimates the total amount needed for all the children to be around BGN 5,000, and a report of all donations and materials purchased will be provided on the center’s website.
