In just one month, hundreds of supporters of National Network for Children donated BGN 11,000 in support of the children of Ukraine.
The “Together for the Children of Ukraine” campaign was launched on February 28 in response to the crisis in Ukraine and the threat to the lives and safety of thousands of children and families, and 135 donors joined in just one month.
Half of this amount has already been donated to the Women’s Consortium of Ukraine, a partner of the NNC, which provides humanitarian and psychological assistance to those in need. To date, the Women’s Consortium of Ukraine has provided emergency support to 226 families and more than 300 children.
“We strive to help war-torn families in Kyiv and the region. There are cases in which parents find themselves in a situation where they are unable to care for their children. In many cases, families have lost everything, including their homes,”said Oksana Moskalenko, coordinator of the organization’s Children’s Rights Program.
Between February 24 and March 22, more than 650 residential buildings were completely destroyed throughout Ukraine, and about 3,780 suffered varying degrees of damage, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Ukraine (OCHA Ukraine), quoted by the Women’s Consortium. of Ukraine “.
The campaign “Together for the Children of Ukraine” continues and in the next 5 months National Network for Children will provide the funds raised to the Women’s Consortium of Ukraine and the Partnership for Every Child – Ukraine.
