Four Centers for the Child Rights have started work in Sofia, Vratsa, Rousse and Pazardjik. They are part of the project “Child Rights Hubs for Children in Conflict and Contact with the Law in Bulgaria”, financed by The Velux Foundations, Denmark.
The project is implemented by the National Network for Children. Its main objective is to pilot services, aimed at children in conflict and in contact with the law, to change public attitudes towards children in conflict with the law and to develop a regional approach in work with organizations members of the National Network for Children.
The implementation of the project is based on an integrated approach and participation of all stakeholders. Special efforts are focused on prevention through community service, as well as changing attitudes through campaigns at national, regional and local level.
At the end of 2016, a competition was held to select organizations to run the four Centers. In Sofia, the Center is managed by the Social Activities and Practices Institute, in Rousse – by Equivibrium Association, in Pazardzhik – by the Crime Prevention Fund IGA and in Vratsa – bt Association for Pedagogical and Social Assistance for Children FICE.
