Effects of institutionalization upon young children

A seminar named Effects of institutional care upon young children and the care for them after leaving the institutions took place on 14 February at the Embassy of France in Bulgaria. The event was organized by UNICEF and the Embassy of France in Bulgaria and is part of a regional campaign of UNICEF which supports the governments in 22 countries in Eastern/Central Europe and Central Asia in their efforts to reform the care system and establish gate-keeping mechanisms for stopping placements of children up to 3 years old in residential care in Europe.
