The manual for care professionals working with children in alternative care has been made available to the public in connection with the International Alternative Care Conference in Geneva, 3-5 October. ‘Training Professionals Working with Children in Care’ is a two-year partnership (2015-2016) led by SOS Children’s Villages International, together with Eurochild, the Council of Europe and other partners from Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Italy, Latvia, Hungary and Romania.
The manual consists of 8 sessions which create a 12-hour interactive module specifically designed for care professionals who want to familiarise with the international standards and principles surrounding children’s rights. The handbook includes background resources, activities, tips and examples.
