International conference for European Council’s new Strategy for the rights of the child (2016 – 2019) will be organized during the rotating presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria of the Committee of Ministers of the Council (November 2015 – May 2016). The decision was taken after a proposal made by Eva Zhecheva, President of State Agency for Child Protection during the second meeting of the National Coordination Mechanism on Human Rights. It was held on January 22, 2015 under the leadership of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov.
The execution of such forum gives Bulgaria a unique chance to present its experience, practice and knowledge in the protection and promotion of child rights. The conference will provide opportunities for the discussion of new possibilities and perspectives as well as challenges in the development of united European system to guarantee the rights of the child.
