Baby sale – a result of poverty and unemployment

Only last year 29 cases of selling newborn were registered
Pregnant women trafficking, in order to sell their newborn children, is a specific type of traffic in the international practice.

According to the official data of the Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office, only last year 29 such cases were registered in Bulgaria. The first baby sales are ascertained in 2004. Informally, it is claimed that a baby boy can be sold for 25,000 €. The girls are sold at a lower price – 18 000 €.
