Autumn Camp For Children Participation of National Network For Children

The National Network for Children organized its autumn camp for children participation between September 24 and 29th 2013. The event was held in the holiday home of the biggest Bulgarian coaling company “Mini Maritsa Iztok” in Stara Zagora Mineral Baths. The camp was realized with the support of ContourClobal Maritsa East 3 thermo-electric power station.

Representatives of six member organizations of the National Network for Children (NNC) participated in the event. The camp was opened with a day full of friendly conversations, participants’ acquaintance and expectations sharing.

The real work started on September 25th. The participants developed camp’s rules, talked about the strong and weak points of their places of residence and how they were improved with the help of  National Network for Children local member organizations. The day work continued with a Megaphone member’s session in which its future participants become acquainted with its main characteristics. On the next day George Bogdanov and Maria Brestnishka of the NNC’s Secretary came and illustrated with games and picture presentation the Network’s structure, achievements and essence. The following sitting included explanations of children participation importance and presentation of Network’s major activities – Report card, Golden Apple awards and Annual meeting. The camp members visited on Friday morning the administration of Maritsa East 3 thermo-electric power station where they learned about its functioning and history. In the afternoon they discussed how Megaphone works and in what directions its activities have to be developed. The Saturday was hard and at the same time intriguing day because the participants had trainings “Working with media” and “Projects development” which they previously have chosen.

The participants succeeded during these 6 days to share positive emotions, to gain valuable experience and to exchange knowledge and opinions which will be turned into actions in the future.
