Around 64 000 First Grade Pupils This Autumn

The Minister of Education and Science Mrs. Aneliya  Klisarova announced on August 15th, 2013,  that this autumn the first grade pupils in Bulgaria will be around 64 000, reported the Bulgarian news Agency.

This year 15 schools are closed and other 16 will be reorganized, Mrs. Klisarova specified. The requirements for professional training have been changed at the same time. The number of students in classes for this type of education has been reduced to a lower minimum of 12 children.

The Minister also reported that this summer 688 schools are repaired.

The team of the Ministry of Education and Science is ready to manage the new Operational Program “Science and Education for  integrated growth.”, the Minister said.  She will meet on August 23th, 2013 representatives of the European Commission in order to negotiate the program. The Ministry of Education and Science will request a program funding between 500 and 700 mln. euro, Mrs. Klisarova  added.
